Stories in Motion

Discover the short films created by students and teachers from Italy and Spain within the Erasmus+ project VALUES IN MOTION.

Through stop motion animation and audiovisual storytelling, schools explored European values such as inclusion, cooperation, sustainability, equality and active citizenship, transforming classroom experiences into creative cinematic works.

Through stop motion, storytelling and collaborative creativity, schools from Italy and Spain transformed classroom experiences into original audiovisual works inspired by the core values of the European Union: inclusion, equality, cooperation, solidarity, cultural diversity, environmental awareness and active citizenship.

Each short film explores these values through different educational themes and narratives. Some works reflect on peace, friendship and social solidarity, encouraging empathy and mutual respect among young people. Others focus on sustainability and the relationship between humans and nature, promoting environmental responsibility and collective care for the planet. Several projects address diversity, inclusion and equality, highlighting the importance of listening, participation and respect for different identities and perspectives.

Many of the films were inspired by literary and poetic texts — including works by Gianni Rodari and Saint Francis of Assisi — reinterpreted by students through animation, visual metaphors and handcrafted artistic techniques such as paper cut-out animation, collage, plasticine and mixed-media stop motion.

The educational process behind the films was as important as the final result. Students actively participated in every phase of production — from idea development and scriptwriting to storyboard creation, set design and animation — developing not only audiovisual and digital competences, but also collaboration, critical thinking and emotional expression.

By working together across schools, cultures and languages, participants experienced the European values of cooperation and intercultural dialogue in a concrete and creative way. The resulting short films are therefore not only artistic creations, but also testimonies of a shared educational journey where cinema becomes a tool for participation, reflection and democratic citizenship.

Our Journey

From tales to films. From classrooms to Europe.

What is Values in Motion?

Values in Motion is an Erasmus+ KA210 project that brings together creativity, digital innovation and European values to transform education through audiovisual practices. Running from February 2025 to July 2026, it is coordinated by MEET ETS (Italy) in partnership with IES Rodanas (Spain).

What are “School Shorts”?

“School Shorts” are short films created by students and teachers during the educational activities of the project.
Each audiovisual work is the result of a collaborative creative process developed inside the classroom

Are the films entirely created by students?

Yes.
The students actively participated in the creative and production process, supported by teachers and project facilitators.

Can these activities be replicated in other schools?

Absolutely.
One of the goals of VALUES IN MOTION is to provide accessible and adaptable educational practices that can inspire teachers and schools across Europe.

What is the educational value of stop motion in schools?

Stop motion combines creativity, storytelling, teamwork and digital skills.
It helps students develop communication, problem-solving and collaborative competences through hands-on learning experiences.

“We believe that classrooms can be places of creativity, dialogue, and discovery. With Values in Motion we invite teachers and students to use stop motion and digital tools not just to learn, but to express themselves, to listen to one another, and to connect their stories with the shared values of Europe. For us, education is not only about knowledge — it is about giving every child the chance to feel included, inspired, and part of something bigger.”

Stronger Together

From Italy to Spain, MEET and IES Rodanas join forces to turn classrooms into creative spaces where stories, values, and cultures meet, grow, and inspire new ways of learning.
